About

Hello! I’m Krishnan Chandra, a software engineer based in New York City. I love building impactful solutions with distributed systems.

I’m currently Head of Applied AI at Aaru, where I’m focused on turning our simulation technology into agentic products for different verticals.

Before joining Aaru, I was a Principal Engineer at Ramp for 18 months, where I was the founding tech lead of the Ramp Stack team building agentic products for accounting firms. I grew the team from 1 to 10 engineers over a year and took the product to public launch in June 2026.

I was also the CTO and Co-Founder of Human Intelligence, the company behind SixAI and ResearchRabbit, which scaled to millions of researchers worldwide and was acquired by Litmaps in 2025. This experience was invaluable and helped to hone my skills in leadership and greenfield product development.

My foundation in distributed systems and real-time data pipelines (processing tens of billions of events daily) was built at leading companies like Confluent, Reddit, Optimizely, and LinkedIn. I hold dual degrees in mathematics and computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializing in operations research on the math side and distributed systems on the CS side.

When I’m not coding, I enjoy contributing to my community through volunteering, and pursuing my love for soccer.
